This isn’t the first time that I attempted to write a Sibert prediction post. However, it feels like it has gotten harder and harder each year. Despite pouring over the list of books I have read, I feel like so much has changed in book award predictions, and I am a bit worried that I have no sense of what will win. Sometimes I think that despite having read over a 80 nonfiction titles this year that I missed the winner or haven’t read it yet. So I decided to take a slightly different approach this year and pick titles that I think would make good titles for students to read, discuss, and evaluate using the Sibert criteria. And just maybe one of these will be a winner because they are certainly a winner in my mind.
